The most question I get asked all the time when talking about one of the most famous Lebanese breakfast (Mankousheh) is: ” What is Zaatar?

Zaatar is a prepared condiment and is generally made with ground dried thyme, oregano, marjoram, Sumac and some combination thereof, mixed with toasted sesame seed.

Is Zaatar good for me?

The answer is YES, YES & YES !! EVERYTHING Mediterranean is good for you LOL! ( this is my passion for the Mediterranean diet talking.)
But actually, Za’atar has some truly impressive health benefits, including its ability to improve the immune system, boost skin health, build strong bones, increase circulation, clear out the respiratory tracts, soothe inflammation, boost energy, improve mood, aid memory, and potential to treat chronic diseases.
So next time you come across this amazing spice grab it and start using it in your cooking 🥘.

Ingredients
  

Bread

  • 250 Ml Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Yeast
  • 4 Cups Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • 5 Thyme leaves Dry
  • 5 Tbsp Olive Oil

Zaatar Mix

  • 3 Tbsp Zaatar
  • 3 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Chopped Onion

Notes

  • Once you make the dough Leave it resting for 10 Min before shaping it 
  • Once you shape the dough leave it for 40 min before baking 
  • Bake for 15 to 20 min on 180 degree C

It’s quick and easy to make and you can serve it to your guest and trust me they will be very impressed, tastes exactly the same but it’s guilt-free Big thanks to BELOVEDATES who sent me those blended dates saved me so much time blending my own.

Healthy Ramadan Ma’amoul recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Cups Flour
  • 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 2 Tsp Yeast
  • 2 Tsp Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp Sea Salt
  • 2 Tbs Ghee
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Cup Rose Water
  • 2 Tbs Milk
  • 1 Tbs Vitamin E Oil

Instructions
 

  • -MIx and Leave the dough resting for 1h30min 
    -Then turn BELOVEDATES into small balls 
    -fill the dough with the Belovedates balls 
    -Follow the video on how to turn them into star shapes 
    -Bake for 20 min on 250C

  • 4 Tbsp Yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp Hazelnut Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Manuka Honey
  • 1 Banana
  • 4 Large Frozen Strawberries
  • 1 Tbsp Chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Mixed Grains
  • 3 Tbsp Cold Water

Ingredients
  

  • 200 Gram Minced Chicken
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Tbsp Flour
  • 1 Tbsp 7 spice
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Tbs ASDA’S Gravy
  • 1/2 Cup Water For the gravy
  • 1 1/2 Cup Water For the rice
  • 1 Cup Rice
  • to taste Salt

Instructions
 

Chiken Meat balls

  • Preheat the oven to 250C.
  • In a bowl add the chopped onions, 7 spice, 1tbs of flour, 1tbs of olive oil and the 200g of minced chicken. 
    Then mix.
  • Once they are mixed turn them into medium sized balls and add them on a tray.
    Note: don’t forget to spray some oil to the tray to stop the chicken balls from sticking.  
  • Place them in the oven for 20min until they are golden.

Rice

  • To make the rice I use those measurements : 
    for every 1 cup of rice, I use 1 and a half cup of water. 

Gravy

  • for gravy, use any type you like and here are some examples of gravies you can buy. 😄
